The dreams of children
Hello Champions of peace,
Today I offer each of you a glimpse of what I think are the dreams of children and the world they would like to live in. It is based on a nine-year conversation I started the weekend following 9/11 and continue to explore.
I ask that each of you respond by painting an extraordinary picture of the world you think our children would love to grow-up in.
I can imagine a world where a child can walk out of their home and into a world of play, fun, love, safety and empowerment.
No matter who is in the streets outside the home, the other children will seek being nuturing, related and open to inclusion. No matter the particular game or moment, the new child or next child to appear will be welcomed and embraced to join in the fun.
Every child will see every other child and accept all the differences and all commonalities, but most importantly just accept each other with tolerance, respect and honor.
No child will experience bullying and humiliation, instead they will cherish love and extend love.
Can you remember your days a child. The friendships and love you extended to complete strangers just seeking to have the most fun you could in the moment .. then the next moment.
Would it be like a dream to be able to trust that whatever children your child met up with were beautiful, loving and nuturing little human beings with compassion and love.
Can you imagine being able to let your children out of your sight able to trust that each and every adult would be watching over your child as if it were there own?
And during their time to play or go to school or do their homework they would inquiry about the fate of those children less fortunate then themselves. Always looking to see how they could provide love, compassion, respect to those in need of just a kind word, or a piece of clothing or a warm meal.
What if all the adults took action based on the wonderful compassion expressed by children and gave their word to deliver the world based on a universal culture of peace that celebrated our differences as well as ALL THAT WE HAVE IN COMMON.
I can barely be with the joy and happiness created by seeing all children free, safe and strong. However, I am willing to give my life to creating that world for all children...Muslim, Hindu, Budhist, Christian, Jewish, Aetheist, Agnostic and any any all other faiths or non-faiths.
How great a world for children can I stand? I don't know, but I look forward to giving it a try.

I get your view of this world and the influence of parents and adults on children.
However, your answer did not address my request:
I ask that each of you respond by painting an extraordinary picture of the world you think our children would love to grow-up in.
Can you give up all that you know about this world, and allow your imagination to create a world that would be extraordinary? Not based on anything other than your dreams, hopes and aspirations for all children.
Give it a try.

Hi Jeff,
I just found this piece - I love what you are doing. It is very inspiring. I have a dream of 2 things - one creating a movie - I have written first half of the fairy story and children will help me create rest - it will be multimedia movie.
Also an international Euorpean centre in Slovenia with healing eco garden working with mandalas, movement, the expressive arts.
Its great to feel the energy of your work and words.

your words are so beautiful hold in their arms what all the children looking for all over the world. not only children but moreover there parents that will be very happy in the happenness of there children.
all of us looking for these life, but do you think we can achieve this life i don't think so. cause every thing in this world compined and each situation depend on the other.
i would ask you a question. How we could find the safety, happy and great life for the children if they are thinking not in safe as you, me and all the world can see in Palestine and how these children killed, kill and will kill with no mercy. how we could find and draw a small smile in a face that sufer from hunger as in Africa, all his thinking is how he will get his any food to full his stomach.
before we put a plane and speak in this point we have to find the strong base to build all other things starting from meet the basic needs of the human beings (food, homes, cleanness) to cultural situation etc.. and as you know it must satisfying the priorities of human life.
your suggestion good but their are many steps must finish untill we start with your project..

Hello Nader,
It all starts with empowering all children to be a voice for the world they want to live in. It is up to us to listen and deliver on what the children declare. The more children that we stand for each and every day, the more the children of the world will gain momentum and power to have all of us engaged in their cause: a life of freedom, safety and strength.
It all begins with the declarations of the children and young people of the world. Everything else will follow.
