I write to you from the J Street conference in Washington DC, where MEPEACE is a participating organization.
As Ha'aretz reports, this event has more than 1500 "peace activists, politicians, diplomats, lobbyists, male and female rabbis, political advisers, artists, students and journalists". Americans are coming together to support a two-state solution of Israel and Palestine.

Update: 'Peace Talks' in New York on Sunday was fantastic! Good people came to support us. We discussed having a 'culture of peace', starting a New York chapter for MEPEACE, and supporting Palestinians and Israelis on the ground. Also this weekend I spoke about MEPEACE at Kehillat Romemu, a Jewish community of peacemakers sharing and supporting our goals.

Update: The next time you sign in on mepeace.org you will be asked to verify your email address. This is for security and to eliminate spam. Validating your email is a one-time, two-step process. If you have any issues, you will see a "help" link for assistance.
Improvements: Your page has been improved wit better layout and a new "Status Update" feature which empowers you to share information with other members on the MEPEACE Network. This works like the status update on Facebook and I hope you will update your status.
Upcoming trip to America: On October 14th I will land in New York to raise funds and support for MEPEACE. I will host 'Peace Talks' on October 18 in New York and meet with MEPEACE peacemakers. MEPEACE is a non-for-profit organization networking for peace online and on the ground. Our board met this week in Jaffa to discuss the way forward for Middle East peace.
We brainstormed on volunteering, fundraising, events, communications, partnerships, Arabic, information, technology and leadership. You will soon receive an invitation to a special event in September.

On this exactly day two years ago, my friend Lemuel became the first peacemaker joined mepeace.org. More than 2,660 peacemakers have joined since, and I thank you for joining us. In these two years, we have networked people for peace in more than 200 countries/territories and 10,000 cities.

I write to you from the J Street conference in Washington DC, where MEPEACE is a participating organization.
As Ha'aretz reports, this event has more than 1500 "peace activists, politicians, diplomats, lobbyists, male and female rabbis, political advisers, artists, students and journalists". Americans are coming together to support a two-state solution of Israel and Palestine.

Update: 'Peace Talks' in New York on Sunday was fantastic! Good people came to support us. We discussed having a 'culture of peace', starting a New York chapter for MEPEACE, and supporting Palestinians and Israelis on the ground. Also this weekend I spoke about MEPEACE at Kehillat Romemu, a Jewish community of peacemakers sharing and supporting our goals.

130+ peacemakers participated in the MEPEACE Iftar and Shabbat Dinner on September 11, 2009.
Thanks to all who came and all who wanted to be there. Special thanks to Anas Neiroukh, Tamar Freed and the others who organized this event.
People came from from Nablus, Jericho, Ramallah, Beit Jalla, Hezma, Hebron, East and West Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv... With us were peacemakers from the US, Germany, France, Cypus, South Africa and Australia. Thank you all!
Beyond the Middle East, this event received media interest from Italy, Denmark, the US, the UK, Spain and China. We are communicating the message that people of all faiths can come together for peace.

Our guests arrived early and got to know one another. Dinner began as the Ramadan fast day ended and a wide variety of traditional foods was served. Our peacemakers sat together at one huge interconnected table.
The program began after the meal. After welcoming remarks and thanks to the team, Eyal Raviv presented MEPEACE and what is possible. We shared a moment of silence commemorating the tragedy, honoring the victims of that day and of our conflict, and reflecting on the peace we have and can have.
The education program continued with a discussion of the Iftar and Ramadan, and questions and answers from the crowd. A discussion of Shabbat followed. Information sheets were distributed with the customs and traditions in Arabic, English and Hebrew.
Everyone in the room got to share his/her name name and birth month. More than 130 voices were heard. We concluded by singing Happy Birthday to Lisa, in Arabic, Hebrew and English. The songs we share in common symbolize our shared striving for peace.

On this day exactly two years ago, MEPEACE started to count its statistics. During these two years, mepeace.org as been visited by people in more than 200 countries and territories and 10,000 cities.
We are approaching 3,000 peacemakers. We have received 133,707 visitors, 260,565 visits, and 1,424,006 page visits. People want peace and we have what to offer. Thank you for being part of it.

MEPEACE is a non-for-profit organization networking for peace online and on the ground. Our board met this week in Jaffa to discuss the way forward for Middle East peace.
We brainstormed on volunteering, fundraising, events, communications, partnerships, Arabic, information, technology and leadership. You will soon receive an invitation to a special event in September.
