My personal story:

In the age group 16-21 years, I suffered from lack of peace (occupation) in many ways and could not but take part in peaceful/anti-occupation activities that resulted in further victimization. In that age group, I was locked behind the occupation bars seven times ranging from 3-90 days each. Charges ranged from stone throwing to possession/raising a Palestinian flag in students demonstrations.
The voices of peace were getting louder in mid 1990s in both Israeli and Palestinian camps. Having a partner in Israel to advance the cause of peace really impressed me and gave me a hope. I participated in many joint peaceful activities, events and gathering in the period 1998 to present. I have started to better know and understand the other who is in need of real peace no less than me.

Why I want peace:

The quest for peace is a journey that each will have to set for sooner or later because one simply can not funcion, achieve, deliver and ultimately live in an environment that lacks peace. Inner and outer peace are inter-related and in your quest of any of them, you will directly or indirectly feel you are making progress on both. Thus, I believe just peace is the ultimate state one strives/will strive to have at the inner and outer levels.
