My personal story:
myself have wittinesed some problems that might prove to be threat to the stability and prosperity of those living in this region. The main problem is absence of peace .so i dicded to dedicate alot of my time for making ,building peace for the people of our area,so i have been in touch of israeli NGOs and peace activiest to joined our efforts towards creating peace .mutal trust, understanding and having dialogue among our people.lately i had organizes israeli palestinian women meeting near ramallah.i think peace also needs more grassroot efforts and real well for changing alot of atttitude and sterotyping that made peace farawy.
Why I want peace:
To conquer the inner enemy of fear is to ensure peace within. Inner peace creates resonant waves of harmony. Inner peace creates a harmonious external environment. Walk not in the footsteps of fear but rather take bold new steps to create a world of Love

How I found mepeace.org:
friend
What I want to achieve here:
helping in creating active and just public opinion concerns Palestinian Israeli peace ,coexistence and learning how to live together despite differences and assure that Sometimes it takes just one person to inspire a movement even if it take decades for his/her words to sink in. Sometimes just a few passionate people are needed to awaken the world. Sometimes they start a mass movement and millions follow them, millions who are stirred up by the same outrage or the same idea and their charge comes upon us like a change of weather
Olive Oil Buying, Peace Building
Following the uprooting of hundreds of olive trees by Israeli settlers in the Palestinian village of Issawiya, Abed Khalil, a member of the Families Forum’s and a resident of the village, has recruited his Israeli friends in the forum and in general to help his fellow villagers by buying some of there olive oil
.The dire economic situation throughout the West Bank severely impacts the Palestinian population and its quality of life. The barriers and checkpoints between the Palestinian villages and towns exacerbate these difficulties and seriously diminish people's ability to move around, receive health and medical care, study in the university and access employment. The weaker sectors in Palestinian society are the most seriously impacted, among them poverty-stricken farmers whose livelihood has been significantly damaged as the Occupation confiscates their lands and the Jewish settlers systematically uproot their olive trees.

Abed, a Palestinian peace and women's-rights activist, organizes and coordinates deliveries of olive oil produced by needy Palestinian families, at the price of 35 NIS per liter. He can be reached at 0546-723184, or 0599-798319

or by email: abed2003a@hotmail.com ___recommended by Avi Berg

there is a great deal of evidence to show that the health, economic, and social situation of women are less better than men in Palestinian society ., despite the official position of Palestinian constitution who call upon all society and its institution to treated women with dignity and respect.
by the way many research show clearly the complexity of factors which help to determine the position of Palestinian women in participation of general life ,
will i don’t went to forget that its our first chatting so forgive for this prolong presentation .
i m human rights activist and women empowerment trainer in House Of Peace which is a women organization dedicated for raising women position and awareness in all aspect of the society life ,also to activate the women role in building up peace and trust with Israeli side .

Hi Abed

I've checked Google map and the closest name appeared as Al-Sawaiya, with breathtakingly beautiful images of the village... are we talking about the same place?

regards, narda

Thank you Abed for your invitation, and Shells for circulating it.

It so happens that I shall be in Israel between 13 - 22 October.
I wonder whether it will be okay for me to join you for the first two days?
As I have never done this before I'd love to hear more details.

Also, I have noticed that the new Olive Tree Movement website does not have any harvesting dates for this year... just a thought...

All the best

Narda

Hello Abed, I have recently written a bid (sadly it failed) for an Israeli NGO called TRUST - Emun, also a gender empowerment organisation to encourage women on both sides of the border to come together as advocates for peace, maybe in the upcoming internationl womens day (March 8th), you might wish to meet the MD of the organisation, perhaps we can partner up in future and arrange some joint activities and gain some funding. The biggest limitation I have hit to date is the lack of EU partnerships with Palestinian / Israeli NGOs and subsequent problem in getting EU finanical support for Human Rights projects and womens empowerment and transnational interaction activities. Sadly the implementation of UN resolution 1325 on Women Peace and Security has yet to fully realise itself..
Warm regards
Mike
