- My personal story:
- I'm a music composer/ sound designer, writer, researcher and the founder & artistic director of Ishah 'El theatre arts, a non-profit, multi-cultural theatre arts organization involved in the development, education, support, promotion and production of theatre with an emphasis on faith and spirituality. I have some ambitious plans in the works that I will be revealing here and elsewhere soon: music, writing, audio plays and podcasts of current projects.
- Why I want peace:
- I'm a Christian and an artist, and because of this I am interested in how we can achieve peace in our lives, our world and our communities.
- Interests and activities:
- Writing, music composition, theatre arts, world culture, research, coffee, God & Spirituality.

- I don't even know who you are yet. Oh - you mean't to write "Something that others don't know about you", didn't you, now? Let's see - I like to play with words, which often involves interpreting literally what others say and write, and tends to drive my wife crazy.

First off, Cheryl, my wonderful wife - that's her in the picture with me - is an awesome graphic designer. You are going to need some awesome graphic design work in your near future. Trust me. I'm telling you now so that you will remember where to go. You may already know her through Etsy.com or Ravelry.com as yarnbee. I have some ambitious plans in the works that I will be revealing here and elsewhere soon: more music, writing, audio plays and podcasts of current projects. Currently I'm working on getting my website completed, updating all of these various social web sites, FUNDRAISING, and in the near future will be on several collaborative sites. I hope I find you there.

As you can tell, I keep very busy, but I'm usually available to jump into a project if I'm given enough notice to be able to re-coordinate my schedule. I've gotten a lot of freelance theatre work at the last minute due to the "Oh, S**T! We forgot to hire a (fill in the blank)!" factor.
I was also a chef in a previous lfe - Escoffier, perhaps? - which seems to be the thing that most people are fascinated about, so I cook for close friends & small groups, make & sell my own spice blends and occasionally write about what I'm cooking and eating.

Remembering Aafia
So, it's the day after, and we move forward from the brief collapse of all that we thought we knew into a still uncertain future, only with another new heart wrenching pain to solemnize the passing anniversary. It's like we are all together as one, sitting shivah, reciting kaddish, comforting and supporting one another. I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.
It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.
