- I am the daughter of a Jewish father and a Catholic mother. The TEACHINGS of Jesus (love God, love your neighbors, love your enemies, love all of creation) speak to my heart like no organized religion ever has. (Seriously, take another look at the Sermon on the Mount....amazing and timeless words from 2000 years ago.)
Perhaps from my interfaith heritage, the desire to build bridges of understanding and friendship between people of different backgrounds has been part of who I am since I can remember.
My parents both passed away while I was in my early 30s...way too early. As a way of honoring them, I have tried to work for peace in various ways.
The horrific injuries(physical,emotional and spiritual) being suffered by service people and civilians in war literally gave me nightmares. In order to devote my energy to something positive and uplifting, I founded a little company, http://www.peacetags.com that donates 100% net proceeds to non-profits healing the wounds of war and spreading peace.
- Why I want peace:
- I want peace because peace is about freedom! Freedom from fear and hatred and violence and war; and all those burdens that are poisonous to our souls and rob us of our connection to each other and God.
