Dear Leon, i' m glad i saw your picture turning round on the top! So i came here to read your interesting profile. The world (especially such a region as the middle east) needs people like you. Wonderful, that you develop an Arab Jewish youth program. I am sure that is one of the most effective ways to let peace grow.
Have you heard of www.virtuesproject.com ? Already in 1991 it was initiated by a couple (psychotherapists) and another person from Canada. It was a reaction to the growing violence around them. This project offers very concrete tools for letting the individual personality / charcter blossom. There are very easy going exercises and games, that can be practised in families, schools and any groups (also companies). I only came in contact with it some weeks ago, and last weekend i took part in a two days seminary, as i want to use these tools for projects in schools and lateron (for spreading it) to integrate it in training programs for teachers.
Thank you, Leon, for being and sharing here!
Sunny greetings from an awakening morning in Cologne!

I agree Oliver. It is interesting that honest attempts at communication are often greeted in places like this with jeers and patronising and derogatory presumptions about the perceived other's "real" intentions.

Yes, Paul, communication is crucial indeed. "Simplistic slogans" won't help in the long term, that's clear. But honest and clear communication requires courageousness on all sides. Slogans are, in my view, often (as you also imply above) an 'indiv...

It's actually a reflection of the Israeli religious ministry which serves to uphold the dominance of Judaism in Israel. In that respect it's not much different than most middle eastern countries.
