- My personal story:
- I am south african born, jewish israeli woman, 41 years old, qualified yoga and dance teacher, with a strong clear calling to work for peace on all levels. I am teaching Yoga to children in a school in jerusalem, and to women from the neighbourhoods of abu tur, jabel mukaber and tsur baher in east jerusalem. I participate in many peace events in israel-palestine, and feel purpose in taking action for peace. I try to be the change i want to see in the world.
- Why I want peace:
- Peace is God is One is Love is Joy is Freedom is our true nature, and i wish for all of us humanity to wake up to this truth, and to bring heaven to earth. I know the oneness of humanity, that the essence of all of us, whether we are jewish, muslim, christian, hindu, palestinian, israeli or north vietnamese.... is that we are all children of God, sparks of divinity, and i wish for all of us to awaken to this truth, to recognize our walls of inner war structures within our minds and hearts, that separate us from each other, and to utilize our freedom of choice to think in the direction of unity and not separation, love and not hatred and fear, peace and not war. I wish for us to go beyond our national identities and to see our global humanity, and as human beings, take the responsibility to act towards cultivating a new culture of peace on earth.

- Yoga, Meditation, Dance, God, Peace, Love, Nature, Health and healing, Community. Education, Healing, Community building, Communication, Peacework

- My favourite fruit is passion fruit, i love the colour green, i love the desert and the red sea, i love india and the dalai lama, i love silence and music and deep soul connections....

- What I want to achieve here:
- I would like to network with fellow friends who are consciously working for peace, to search for ways to heal, to build trust, to mutually support, and to plant the seeds for a future culture of peace.

I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.
It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.
