- too Long - However - I made aliya in 1959 as an idealistic labor Zionist. Studied social work in Israel and married and have two sons. I've always worked as a psycho therapist and found my way, mostly with the help of my clients, into doing inner child work. since being a child I was very open to spiritual experiences and learned to meditate from being like a tree.
When I was 50, I separated from my hiusband and took a trip around the world for a year. It started with aTibetan Buddhist monastary in Nepal, where I felt like I'd come home. We practiced the Tong Lin meditation there, where youbreath in the suffering of the world and breath out love into the suffering. I kept on seeing Palestinian young men and Israeli soldiers, fighting each other, full of hate and fear and violence, and I wept endless tears for these boys who had been born to be happy and loving and who were being twisted by circumstances out of there control . During my strip I also became very connected to energy vortexes in nature ( New Zealand and Mt. Shasta) and realized the effort of the earth to participate in our healing.
When I came back to Israel these two types of experiences shaped my continuing life here. I found a partner in Nablus, West Bank and we worked together for 8 years trying to open hearts of Israelis and Palestinians to each other. We organized a dialogue program with a Buddhist orientation, called the transformation of suffering - and I was able to experience young men who had been Palestinians throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers and men who had been soldiers, hugging each other from the pain of having to have hated each other and the relief of being able now to love.
That work was not able to go on after the 2nd intifada and since then I have been active in peace work in different ways. I have continued my Buddhist meditation and traveled to remarkable places and teachers to do so. I have moved to the Gallilee and here found beautiful healing energy vortexes, and go there by myself or with workshops I conduct there.
During the last war, I worked very hard with a coalition of peple to bring about the establisment of shelters for gazan children. We didn't succeed, as is obvious. Now I am working to set up a "transformative" peace show whose purpose is to bring about change In Israeli consciousness regarding war and peace. It wil be based on play back theater, music , films and meeting with Dr. Abulaish and other Palestinians and witrh I sraelis who have unusual stories to tell about their experiences relating to peace.
I am looking for people who are interested in being part of such an initiative, either in the artistic areas or the organizing.
