I wish people would stop trying to defend the indefensible. Political violence, in whatever cause, is one of those indefensibilities.

Profile Information

Hometown:
Cleveland, Ohio USA
Relationship Status:
Married
My personal story:
I am an American Jewish 50+ year old woman. I am married and have 3 children. I have been at work as a political activist, a spiritual seeker, and a thinker all of my life. I organize and facilitate gatherings that bring people together. I participate in life with the best thinking and doing that I am capable of. I am always stretching my own abilities to listen, to learn, to serve others.
Why I want peace:
Why? I love people and know that we are capable of so much more than the violence and disrespect that predominates. My work is to advance both individual and collective development and transformation. The situation of the Israel/Palestinian conflict has has continued to call out to me for the last 20 years. This conflict is a distraction that keeps both the Jewish and Palestinian people from attending to thinking out where we want to go in our future. I want a future where we are safe to move freely and meet others, to explore where our curiosity takes us, and create a world we love.
Interests and activities:
Dialog, politics, learning, gardening
Something you didn't know about me:
I am the publisher of a political cartoon and humor newspaper, The Funny Times, www.funnytimes.com
How I found mepeace.org:
internet link to other Israel/Palestine peace groups
What I want to achieve here:
I want to meet and be in a conversation with other people willing to explore new ways of seeking an end to the conflict.
Do you promise to respect others and our guidelines and not spam?
Yes

Yes, Paul, communication is crucial indeed. "Simplistic slogans" won't help in the long term, that's clear. But honest and clear communication requires courageousness on all sides. Slogans are, in my view, often (as you also imply above) an 'indiv...
