Profile Information

My personal story:
I am inspired to work for peace by the personal stories of Palestinians and Israelis whom I know. Our community on mepeace.org inspires me. I was born in New York in 1976, grew up in Israel and in California. My views used to be right wing. When I was twenty I met a Palestinian for the first time. We were students at the London School of Economics. I decided to learn about the conflict. I thought I knew a lot until I arrived in Israel in 2004. I was stunned. I knew little. I am learning a little more every day and learn a great deal from you on this platform. I studied web design and and customized this web platform for us to connect and work together for peace.
Why I want peace:
I am an eternal optimist! I want peace so that people can live fully, and enjoy their life. I want peace so there will be joy and not mourning. I want peace so we can know one another...
Interests and activities:
Internet, peace, the present... I love chess, music. I love people.
Something you didn't know about me:
I have a twin brother.
Favorite website:
http://mepeace.org
How I found mepeace.org:
I founded mepeace.org when I wanted a place where I could meet people like you. Middle East peace begins with each of us.
What I want to achieve here:
I want mepeace.org to serve as a platform for peacemakers, a place where we can meet each other. I want you to enjoy using this platform and find it useful.
Do you promise to respect others and our guidelines and not spam?

Hope you have a wonderful time always! :)

HI Eyal,

When I joined mepeace you invited me to share the upside down alphabet I once devised.

I'm sorry to tell you that I no longer have a copy of it. The story is: In 1964 my brother was in the army, stationed in Viet Nam. While I was totally opposed to the war, I sent him alot of letters etc. to keep his spirits up, hoping he would avoid getting himself killed or maimed, and make it home in one piece. (Thanks to God, he did.) The alphabet was something I invented to vex him and keep him guessing when I wrote to him. I never sent him a key to it, so he had to figure it out on his own. The concept was that each letter was paired with a different letter which was an upside down duplicate of itself. Some of these were easy (like h & y, m & w, p & d, n & u, etc.) Others I had to make up a new symbol that was a hybrid of the two "opposites" - c & r for example, and f & j. Thegood thing about it was that after awhile the other men in my brother's barracks would shout "Hey Hoffman! Here's another crazy letter from your brother!"
