Palestinian activists cut their noses off to spite what's left of their face

Here's a letter I received from "Daoud"

It pretty much explains the insanity of some of the Palestinian activists in the United States who know how to say "No" but can't say yes to anything except their own failure:

I don't support the Israeli labor party.
Do you support the Israeli labor party?

It is the party that is led now by Ehud Barak, the Israeli defense (war) minister.
It is the party of David Ben-Gurion, who gave the orders to ethnically cleanse
the Land of Palestine of its Arab people. It is the party of Golda Meir who
said there are no Palestinians. It is the party that is the senior member of the
Israeli government with Ehud Olmert's Kadima party. It is the Israeli government
that denies our Palestinian Arabs their basic human rights. It is the party that
occupies the land of Palestine. It is the party that sends its armed soldiers to
kill the Palestinian women and children.

Why am I writing this to you now? Because Ray Hananiya supports this party
and he is holding a fund raising comedy night on 10/8/2008 in Oak Park to
raise funds for the re-election of one of the members of this labor party in
the Israeli Knesset, who happen to be an Israeli Arab from Jaffa.
I called and talked to Ray about this when I got the flyer to donate for this.
Ray told me that he supports this labor party and this lady Nadia Hilou.

If you support the labor party and the Israeli occupation go ahead donate for
Ray's efforts. But if you are opposed to the Israeli occupation and to the labor
party of the Israeli government please stay away and let Ray Hananiya know
how you feel about his support to the labor party of the Israeli government.
Here is Ray's email : rayhanania@comcast.net

Daoud is really helping the Likud by doing this.
I'm sure that's what he wanted, no?

I am not sure of rayhanania's view points. In America if you want to start a party it can happen. It doesn't mean the world supports it or that the fund level they gain is truely great. I support those that have great Ideas and are committed on a two sided peace. This must be done together. That means there are no winners just suvivors with the chance to start rebuilding their lives for the greater good. I have seen a lot of companies and corporations who have donated their time on both sides these groups do need your help and joining one is a start to creating stronger societies. I would like to see the family who's vineyard is blocked be able to raise grapes. I would like both sides to protect this region unified and trade world wide and bring the varied religious aspects to the forefront of how great our God is and the greatness he gives us each day. I respect those who take the time to help an elderly across the street or help a child when they are lost. It takes a village to create a community and that community can be something good. In'Sha'Allah and may his light shine upon each one of us each day. Write letters to all the heads of states let them hear your voice.

I agree Oliver. It is interesting that honest attempts at communication are often greeted in places like this with jeers and patronising and derogatory presumptions about the perceived other's "real" intentions.

Yes, Paul, communication is crucial indeed. "Simplistic slogans" won't help in the long term, that's clear. But honest and clear communication requires courageousness on all sides. Slogans are, in my view, often (as you also imply above) an 'indiv...

It's actually a reflection of the Israeli religious ministry which serves to uphold the dominance of Judaism in Israel. In that respect it's not much different than most middle eastern countries.
