I live in Canada, but when in Israel I will take you up on your offer. Accuracy of facts is very important to me , and I take great offense when they are misrepresented. I am a professional person and try not to offend but rather to explain.

Some people do get offended when this is pointed out to them . Pecae cannot be achieved by twisting the truth or even ignoring it.

Dear Roni,

I just left this message on the Wall of the founder of this site. I’m sorry if you feel that I’m complaining all the time – but I can’t accept things like this and continue to write here…

Eyal,

I’m sorry if I seem to bother you again.

As the founder of this site I want to ask you if you really think that it is ok what this peacemaker says? Do you really agree that by this he’s making peace? Do you think that THIS is freedom of speech?

I have stopped to answer him.
I think – this time not of deleting my profile – but in stopping to come here at all, if this is tolerated by the owners of this site.

Can you please answer him?

Dear Marwa,

You wrote emotionally: "I think Alice should not change" and that she is "kind, open-minded, big-hearted, honest, and a supporters of human rights".

I normally essentially agree with you Marwa. In this case, I think that your assessment of her is demonstrably wrong. Very wrong. You demonstrate that Marwa by what you've written, and by when and how and why you wrote what you did.

You wrote: "What do you want more than that?"

I want people to stop inciting others, especially people like you, Marwa. Alice has demonstrably just done that by falsely claiming victimhood.

You wrote: "Why do you think she should stop?"

Because Marwa you have just demonstrated the insidious effect of what Alice achieves with all her emotional goodness. As result of that emotional goodness, you wrote this Marwa:
"I wish all Jews and Israelis change to become like her, kind, open-minded, big-hearted, honest, and supporters of human rights."

Now Marwa you really know that in plain English what that really means is:
Other than the few nice people like Alice, all Jews and Israelis ARE NOT kind, open-minded, big-hearted, honest, and supporters of human rights.
Now that is both demonstrably very bigoted and demonstrably untrue. But that is precisely the message that Alice continues to send!
Based upon what you've written here before I don't think that you really mean that, Marwa.

On the other hand, based on the number times some others here have repeated such slander, I think that some of what Alice writes implicitly and explicitly slanders Jews and Israelis. And so either her judgment is impaired or she is just trying to buy her way into what she sees as a Jew-hating heaven.

Now do you see Marwa why I so object Alice's simplistic and shallow (and self-serving) generalizations?

Do you now understand Marwa how Alice actually victimizes and so viciously attacks others? She attacks, first. Then she claims to the victim of the response she provoked. That is a classic passive-aggressive game some people here play even better than Alice.

Thank you Marwa for again speaking so plainly and honestly. You've helped me to respond effectively and thoroughly to your very relevant and well-intentioned questions and suggestions.

Keep them coming... I really think that you're the real future. Please continue to honestly question, think, and learn with an open mind and an open heart.

Be well... --PmR

Hi Roni,

Is the Peace Cafe connected to
http://www.allnationscafe.org/

In 2005, I met Dhyan, one of the founders and the photo on left margin resembles him to the best of my memory.

He was actively bringing Palestinians and Israelis together using the Art's as a vehicle and a bridge to peace.

I asked Dhyan what he thought about The Wall and he laughed then told me, "You can see a wall and be stopped by it, or you find the way around."

He also told me the story of when he had gone into Bethlehem with an interfaith group accompanied by Ibrahim from the Mount of Olives and many internationals.

An Ethiopian guard allowed them all in but when they were returning to Jerusalem a Russian soldier demanded to see everyone's passports.

When Dhyan showed his the guard demanded to know who had let him in.

Ibrahim, a Palestinian Muslim replied in Russian, "A beautiful black soldier."

The Russian inquired as he pointed to the 'suspect', "Is it him?"

Ibrahim feared he would get the young man in trouble and retorted, "That soldier is beautiful, but the other one I think was even more beautiful."

As Dhyan also speaks Russian he joined in the conversation and within three minutes the Russian soldier's wall had 'cracked' and he waved them all through saying, "Okay, you are all family and friends."

Next Dhyan then told me about the day he was traveling to the Rose of Jerusalem's Workshop Theater of Music and Arts where he had been working with Palestinian Muslim kids between the ages of 5 and 11.

Elections were going on and Palestinians had guns, so the IDF had put up a roadblock and was not allowing Israeli citizens in.

Dhyan begged the soldier to allow him entry and the soldier had mercy and phoned his superior who was happy to learn that an Israeli was working with Muslim kids in his territory.

He told Dhyan to go to office of the Civil Administrator to get permission to get in.

After waiting a few hours in line a Palestinian turned to Dhyan and inquired why was he waiting. When Dhyan explained his situation the Muslim replied, "You are only a few minutes away."

The Palestinian drove Dhyan in his car to the area where he then walked right in.

That was just one of my many experiences in Israel Palestine that affirmed what I already believed:

The Walls we construct in our minds must fall before The Walls men build to divide ever can.

Fair enough!! Wasn't the most concise...

1) Yes, I think using the call to bring speakers in is an excellent idea, and would most benefit those on this page who are already well informed and contribute regularly.

2) Using the dividing call to spread communicataion through as many people as possible would also be effective in a different way, may not be so in depth, but would connect people and help the grassroots movement.

I have to say the success of this would be based on levels of broadband accessibility throughout the region. I have no idea what connectivity is like....I'm hoping this isn't an issue??

I'll try and keep my analogies to myself next time!
